A preposition connects a noun or pronoun to the rest of the sentence by showing its relationship in terms of place, time, direction, or manner. The important point to note is that in Arabic, a noun that follows a preposition is in the genitive case and takes either a kasrah or kasratan. The most used prepositions are listed below:
